It's my final day off before another 5 day shift. And it's family day, ithout the family. I actually have a "holiday" off and nobody is here. So I took the opportunity to do something for them. I attacked the gameroom/guestroom. (Had my bestfriend over this weekend, with her and her daughter staying in the livingroom.) And went through the boy's room just as quickly. What a day off!
The best thing was that I got this much needed clean-up started. It's a beautiful, sunny day; this also allowed me to open every window in the house. With windows in every room, you almost need sunglasses in the house. Just love that about this place. And the fact that I'm planning on bringing home 'brand new' furniture does help with the motivation of cleaning.
I made a promise to myself and my family that when we moved to better accommedations, it would stay within the definition of 'nice'. It's been 3 months and I do believe I've kept that end of the promise. I made this deal with the Devil, knowing it would be without much help from those helping to make the chaos. And when there was said help, it would need to be rewarded with praise and great prizes (TV, game console, cash, etc). It is worth it, in the end.
After years of waging war against housecleaing, I began to see the positive effect the non-clutter would have in whole, not just how much work it was everyday. So I began to fit everything around house with a feeling of free-flow. And it has made a difference. There are several steps to acheive a free-flow house even if you don't necessary want a showhome. (My isn't and that's not my goal.) The general goal, is to able to walk into your home, each day and feel like you can breathe, after a long day at work. Most homes don't have this feeling and the main reason is "clutter".
HOW I'M GETTING MY SLICE.
I decided to finally try and do instead of just think about doing. And so this blog was born. I hope to bring some awareness to overlooked or misunderstood subjects. I will use this blog as a soundboard of everday frustrations, memorable learning experiences and other links of interests during my posts. Some the subjects that will be covered will touch my family personally. Expect those posts to be lively to say the least. Other will be of light nature and to be considered as a moment of pure childishness. Hope those who visit find something useful and enjoy their time spent.

Help in Raising Funds for Your Local JDRF (Type I Diabetes)
Help your local Diabetes Association raise funds towards treatment of Type I/ Type II Diabetes. Since the invention of Insulin (by a canadian), not much advancement has been done in finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Your donations could change this significantly.
Help today so one day, no child will have to live a life of daily injections, constant finger pokes and a future of health complications.
Make a donation at any local #JDRF. Every little bit helps.
